Blankets

Thank you so much for all the blankets that have been dropped off for Lindelani! Greytown has been freezing the last few weeks and the blankets have kept little toes an fingers warm!

Light

God has been so faithful (as he has a tendency of being :) ) In the past few weeks there have been a number of people who have given their hearts to Jesus. They are all people who have been receiving home based care. It is so encouraging to see how their lives have been touched, had how God has used the carers to demonstrate his love.
"No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light" Luke 7:16
I love this verse, and I've seen it so clearly in Lindelani. Those who have given their lives to Jesus shine so bright in the place of darkness. People are drawn to them.

Today I was so encouraged by a report that I received from the community. They were saying how the crime in Lindelani has decreased and I've seen over the past few month how the reports of abuse have diminished. Again when see how when light shines darkness is overpowered.

We serve an awesome God!

Philani

Princess

This is Princess, who is our newest member of staff.  She is a community worker and helps with the home based care and is a massive blessing to us! She has two children, Nokulunga (7) and Samkelo (4).

New Year

Philani creche and baby care has started full swing this year. We have been able to increase the number of babies we care for and now have 20 babies in the baby care and 40 children in the creche. The teachers and baby careres have their hands full!! :)

Philani concert

Yesterday we were treated to a concert done by the Philani children. The theme of the day was Zulu tribal wear meets nativity play. They danced and sang beautifully, even a fair share of rain didn't put a damper on the occasion!

Christmas concert

The children at Philani are practising for their end of year concert. The concert takes place on Sunday 12 December, 2Pm at Philani. All are invited to come and watch.

Wembley at Philani

This week we have the Gr 10 class from Wembley visiting at Philani. They are helping us planting, painting and doing activities with the children.

One of the children's favorate songs to sing is "the more we work together the happier we'll be" and this is obvious as Philani this week, with so much getting done and smiles all round from the children and staff.

Biker dudes!

Here are our very own Philani creche biker dudes! The bikes were given to the children a few weeks ago and they have become a defenate favorate!

Birthday smiles :)

This is Andile, she is one of our creche children. She celebrated her 4th birthday yesterday by bringing cake to share with her class.

Baby care

 Our new baby care was opened today! The babies loved exploring their new rooms. In the week we will start to receive a few new little ones.

Pannar paints!

 Our new baby care was painted, decorated and furnished today! Thank you to Pannar for all their hard work and gifts!

Grass planting

The spring rains have finally arrived and we took the opportunity to start planting grass.

Last week Thursday a volunteer started a arts and crafts group with some of the grannies in Lindelani. They loved being able to work with their hands and enjoy a cup of tea and cake!

MOVE!!!!!

On Saturday Philani moved! We had many helpers, building, moving, unpacking and making mud buildings. The new spot is much bigger and we have already been able to expand so much!

Bafana Bafana

Today at Philani we celebrated the upcoming soccer world cup! Wembley school visited and the children painted South African flags, made mari-biscuit soccer balls and had fun face-painting!

Classrooms are up!

The classrooms were finished on Friday, we now just have to put the last finishing touches onto the building. The big move is happening on Saturday, we can't wait to get settled in!!!

Land Prep!

Last week the site of land at Lindelani was cleared and prepared for the upcomming move!
