Building time!

There is such a buzz in Lindelani as excitment mounts with the building that is going up at a rapid rate. The poles are in and the roof in on. It's amazing to watch how bare land can so quickly change and transform into something of worth.

Ugandaganda

Today there was great excitement among the children as they watched the 'ugandaganda'(tractor) at work in Lindelani. It shifted loads of sand and rubbish to make space for veggie gardens and new buildings. The rain didn't even stop them from watching in enthusiasm.

Incinerator

Last week the incinerator was installed in Lindelani to assist with the management of waste control, which is currently a big problem in Lindelani and contributes to poor hygiene and disease. The incinerator will be manned by the Lindelani community, rubbish is burned quickly at high temperatures.

Lindelani

This is a movie clip taken of Lindelani, to give you an idea of what it looks like, in the clip you can see hundreds of little mud and gum pole houses with tin roofs held down by rocks. This is where thousands of people live and have to survive against the cold and wet.
